So the new products had arrived and we had to get some promotional pictures of them.
The guys around the estate where we live had been clearing trees after a big wind storm and had chopped loads of them into blocks, so we decided to set up alongside them and take our pictures there.
The unit is basically a "V" shaped fire pit and we have added three height settings where the folding box grid will rest.
The entire unit can be disassembled and packed away or it can just be cleaned of the ash and placed back into the box it is supplied in.
It is also small enough to fit into the boot of your car or RV to take along with you on a day outing or even a camping or caravanning holiday.
All made in 3 mm stainless steel is is robust ( and a little heavy ) but it is guaranteed to last for years and stay looking good.
The folding box grid makes it so easy to cook on. You simply place all of your meat or sandwiches or chicken in between the two grids, fold the grid together, slide on the retaining loop and place it onto the supports on the unit.
Give it a few minutes and turn it over to allow the other side to cook. Repeat this a few times and get ready to enjoy your meal.
So the weather was great and it sounded like a great idea to go away for a camping weekend at the sea side.
So the van was packed with the tent, gazebo, barbeque (BBQ) and all the food and off we went to enjoy out time at the resort.
We decided to use the Ultimate Convector Grill as the cooker of choice for the weekend because it is just so flexible in what we could cook on it. With the lid it basically becomes an oven, a grill and a stove all in one.
The unit has a temperature control vent and a thermometer to show exactly what is going on during the whole process.
We decided that for dinner we would cook cajun chicken, maize on the cob in aluminium foil with potatoes .
Well check out the pics below and lets hear your comments...
Then it did'nt end just right there. The next morning was the next challenge for the Ultimate Convector Grill when we decided to try scrambled egg, meat balls wrapped in bacon and mushrooms with cheese topping....
Mmmm did they turn our amazing....
Well we were very impressed with this amazing product....again !
See you soon when we report on the next part of our Braairish saga !
Well ,they told us that it would be impossible to do in January.
"You will have icy roads, rain, rain and more rain , snow" they said !
Well if you spit that word in two it says i'm possible, so, armed with our latest stainless steel folding camping grid and a few prepacked tupperware dishes with our meat and drinks in them we headed off to the trout dam where there was a bush craft lesson in session.
After they had done their rough "cook on a stick" session, we set up the folding camp grid popped on our meat pieces and stood watching them cook while we sipped on a cup of steaming hot coffee.
15 minutes later after a few turns the 2 pork steaks were cooked to perfection and we were ready to go and have a stunning tasty smoked treat.
Dave Hendry has been running a stainless steel business called Botany Stainless Steel for over 20 years in South Africa. Over the time he has been involved in the design and testing of many new designs and innovations in the BBQ ( braai ) industry there. From mixing stainless steel and wood to offer a contemporary but modern look plus adding functionality to the units it has also allowed people to have the best quality healthiest BBQs , that will last a lifetime, and at the same time acquire the rights to brag to their friends that they have reached the place where they have the best BBQ that money can buy :-) "but then we are biased" Dave adds.
